This amazing castle complex was constructed in the 12th century. You can explore almost 25 buildings having Gothic underground rooms, chapel, halls, and courtyards. The interior of the castle contains medieval murals, stained glass, and paintings from the 14th century.
The Matterhorn – Switzerland’s Iconic Pointed Peak
The legendary peak of Switzerland is located at the border of Italy. Many professional mountain climbers consider this mountain as their summer destination and it is a popular skiing spot during winters. There is a very beautiful village named Zermatt at the foot of the mountain. There is an amazing resort, world-class hotels, and restaurants in this peaceful area. Motorized vehicles are banned in the village to preserve the peaceful surrounding and air quality. The main transport of this village is the horse-drawn carriages.

They look most amazing during summers (June and July) when the snow melts. There are viewing platforms on the sides of the river where you can enjoy different foods while watching the scenic area.
St. Moritz – Hiking, Biking, and Water Sports
It is one of the top destinations of Switzerland with crystal clear lakes, alpine forests, jagged peaks, and glaciers. This town is divided into two parts St. Moritz Dorf (sunny terrace) and St. Moritz Bad (lakeside on the valley floor). St. Moritz offers many activities to visitors like water sports, snowboarding, hiking, biking, skating, skiing, bobsledding, tobogganing, and the famous Cresta Run.
You can plan a wonderful holiday in Switzerland filled with many interesting activities. There are many seasonal things so check the weather before planning.
Things to do in Switzerland
At the moment we are staying in the Denevi Resort in Sveti Vlas Bulgaria, the weather has been very hot up to 37 Degrees.
We have been travelling through Europe from 20th July after they lifted the Corona 2 weeks quarantine from Bulgaria.
Here are 5 places that we recommend you visit on your trip to Bulgaria
1. Denevi Resort Sveti Vlas in Bulgaria and St Vlas Town- St Vlas was a village but has recently reached town status at it has been growing and been developed at an astronomical rate. Since our last visit 6 years ago I have seen a huge amount of development including new road infrastructure, lots of growth of the City in Burgas and St Vlas. The Denevi resort has a Marina, restaurants a beautiful beach. Vlas itself has now a few large shopping centers and lots of local shops and restaurants which the locals use and tends to be a lot cheaper than the tourist resort Sunny Beach which is 3 miles down the road.
2. Sunny Beach – Sunny Beach is a well-known tourist destination in Bulgaria it has everything you can think of all kinds of water sports, beach bars Irish pubs and too many restaurants to mention here, You can also get on the Sunny Beach trains on wheels which take tourists on a tour around Sunny Beach. Prices in Sunny Beach tend to be much higher than Burgas or St Vlas but will still seem reasonably cheap compared to being at home in UK or Ireland.
3. Burgas – Is the 4th largest city in Bulgaria definitely one of my favourites, lots of shops entertainment, nightlife, playparks for the kids. The atmosphere is great there are lots of shops and restaurants including Greek, Italian, Chinese and fish restaurants at the time of writing this article the exchange rate is just over 2 BGN Bulgarian Levs for £1, If you are changing money you generally will get a much better exchange rate changing your pounds in Bulgaria than changing them at home in the post office.

4. Nessebar – There are two parts to Nessebar there are the New Part and the Old Part of the town. The new part is full of shops stalls restaurants. The old part has got very distinct old buildings and dates back 300 years to Thracian times. There are beautiful views also restaurants and coffee shops with amazing sea views, there are also lots of shops and Bulgarian ornaments for sale.
5. Sozopol – This is one of my favourites coming a close first with Burgas, Sozopol is similar to Nessebar in style with the very old Bulgarian buildings etc. It has boat trips and if you are not driving you can sit at the table an enjoy a beer while watching the sunset over the horizon. Again it has lots of restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream stalls, shops and ornaments and trinkets for sale. In the summer the parking costs 1.50 Leva per hour if you have difficulty walking etc it may be an idea to get some kind of mobile transport to take you around as it can be quite a lot to walk around.

Gamla Stan
Gamla Stan is the old town of Stockholm, Sweden. Gamla Stan mainly consists of the island Stadsholmen, but it also has three little islets named Riddarholmen, Helgeandsholmen, and Strömsborg. It is the place where Stockholm Palace is located, the main residence of the Swedish Monarch King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. There is also the Museum of Medieval Stockholm, which allows its visitors to experience medieval Sweden with its brick houses, workshops and even its harbour.
2. Stockholm Palace
Stockholm Palace was built in mid 18th century, with a whopping 1430 rooms and 660 that have windows. There are several museums in Stockholm Palace, all of which you can visit, including the Livrustkammaren, Gustav III’s Museum of Antiquities, The Treasury and The Tre Kronor Museum. In the Stockholm Palace, you can also see the changing of the Royal Guards ceremony take place, with approximately 800,000 people watching each year. To finish it all off, you can visit the Royal Gift Shop with many different souvenirs and trinkets on sale as well as a wide range of books.
3. Skansen
Skansen is the first open-air museum and zoo in Sweden, located on the island Djurgården which is also home to many other historical monuments and amusement parks. Skansen has over 1.3 million visitors each year, coming for the many different exhibits including a full replica of a 19th-century town with people living their daily lives as they would during the 19th century. The zoo contains many different Scandinavian animals including bison, brown bears, seals, and even reindeer as well as numerous others. The site’s central square is a Christmas market which is visited by roughly 25,000 people each weekend during Christmas time. In the summer there is folk dancing and concerts.
4. Stockholm City Hall
Stockholm City Hall is one of Sweden’s most popular tourist attractions and for good reason. It is located on Kungsholmen Island, and in it, you will find the conference and ceremonial halls, and a luxury restaurant, Stadshuskällaren. This restaurant has dishes based on the wildlife of the north via the west coast’s fish and seafood, including a massive range of different desserts.
5. Gröna Lund
Gröna Lund is located in Stockholm, with over 30 different rides and amusements available for children and adults alike, with the slowest roller-coaster going 26kmph and the fastest going almost 100kmph. There are bumper cars for the young kids, and children from 0-3 can ride for free along with a full paying adult. Gröna Lund also has several concerts going on, especially during the summer, with a wide range of different artists performing yearly.
