Top 3 Uncommon Places To Visit Before You Die

There are many ‘bucket list’ places on earth that holidaymakers share the will to see before they die; Northern Lights, Taj Mahal, Great Wall Of China to name but a few. And while these are breath-taking and definitely on my list… the world is filled with little secret pockets of more uncommon but exciting ground to be explored.

Without delving into extreme terrain, here are my top 3 must – see places for that perfect getaway this year. A little more uncommon, but no less exotic.

  1. GALÁPAGOS, ECUADOR

Located some 600 miles off the South American coast, this Ecuadorian archipelago has been drawing nature-lovers to its remote shores ever since naturalist and geologist Charles Darwin explored the islands in 1835Once upon a time, this island was the real-life home to pirates and famous prisoners alike but more than that, it is also home to an incredibly diverse collection of flora and wild vegetation, including an extremely rare variety of species — such as the Galápagos giant tortoise and marine iguana — both of which cannot be found anywhere else on Earth. In more modern times, thankfully 97 percent of the archipelago’s land mass is protected by national parks and so we should live to see this delightful travel experience for many years to come. On that note, visitors can get right up close and personal with wildlife by way of the many guided boat tours, scuba expeditions and hikes and other specific tours where your curiosity will be livened by animals that are allowed to casually approach sightseers on your journey. Truly breathtaking both as a relaxing retreat and as an adventure getaway

2.                 SAN JUAN TEOTIHUACAN, MEXICO

Teotihuacan

Teotihuacan is as complicated to look at as it is to pronounce – the structures within are so complex that it would be easy to think that aliens had created them. In fact, this theory is among many of the areas creation. Teotihuacan was an ancient Mesoamerican city that was established around 100 BC. At the time, it was the largest metropolis in the pre-Columbian Americas and had significant cultural influence on the surrounding lands. It was in fact the Aztecs who named the region Teotihuacan meaning “the place where gods were created” and so it has that mystical, other-worldly and historical vibe that surpasses any expectation of a common holiday. Here, you can walk along what is known as the Avenue of the Dead, or Teotihuacan’s main road. This broad road is central through the city and is surrounded by hills that resemble giant tombs. Visitors may view a number of extremely well kept murals, including the ‘Pyramid of the Moon’ and the ‘Pyramid of the Sun’ which also happens to be the third largest pyramid in the world. This site is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site from 1987 to date and leaves holiday makers curious and overwhelmed by its sheer vastness and intricate designs.

MISIONES PROVINCE, ARGENTINA

Iguazú Falls

Most people when they think of waterfalls think of the most common ones, today I’d like to note the vast splendor of a lesser known waterfall….Iguazú Falls. Situated on the international border of Argentina and Brazil, it is one of the world’s most striking natural wonders. Iguazú Falls is a misty and almost royal realm of huge tumbling water pockets with natural rainbows surrounding cascades that stretch for nearly 2 full miles. The wooden walkway allows you to experience this sight up close and as holiday makers walk out over the river, they come upon the giant balcony of the “Devil’s Throat.” According to the oldest myths, a jealous god slashed the river there into two parts, thus creating the falls as high as 269 feet surrounded with lush rainforest and tropical birds. It is literally the definition of paradise for the likes of newly-weds and couples looking to re=ignite their love in this beautiful scene.

Have You Booked Your Summer Holidays Yet?

Time flies by and then suddenly you realise it is that time of the year again, yes Christmas is over the January and February Freeze and suddenly March is upon us.  Before we know it Easter will be here and then in what seems like the blink of an eye, the summer holidays will be upon us once again.

Now if you are already living the high life and have a multi million dollar business then it really doesn’t matter when you decide where to go.  Yes you can afford it and you are probably not worried about creating any hassle in your life to save a few hundred or even a few thousand $$$$$s.

If on the other hand you are not made it on the rich list yet you may be a bit more careful when it comes to booking your summer holidays. The thing is by booking flights, boat tickets, and hotels well in advance you can make big savings on your trip.

I myself remember when I just started my online business and was struggling a bit, booking a ticket to London a few days in advance could cost me up to £250 but if I booked 2 months in advance I could get the same tickets for £100.  Now that may not seem like a lot but if you add another £100 a night saving on the cost of your hotel for 7 days.

You could be saving close to £1000 on one trip which for many people is money that is not to be sneezed at . Now with comparison booking engines like Booking.com etc.

You can not only save money on Plane tickets, Ferries,Car Hire,Hotel Rooms,Guest Houses,B & B, but lots more other things as well.

The thing is when I go on a holiday a lot of the time it is to Europe, and we generally stay a minimum of three months there at least as we go by car and ferry.

So apart from a money saving point of view we need a few months warning to have everything at home in order before we go. Including our dates and excuses for school etc. Sorted out.

Have you planned your next trip yet if so post the details in the comments below and share it with our readers, we would love to hear about your next planned holiday trips or experiences of previous ones, be they good or bad.

Yacht Charter

Yacht Charter

After gathering all the necessary information, the next biggest task at hand for us was to charter a luxurious yacht for a week. There are many resources through which you can book an extraordinary yacht charter, but our idea was to get most freedom and essential privacy for all of us. In this part of the article I would like to describe you the process through which you can charter a yacht and what things you have to keep in mind when you yacht charter. The basic phenomena that we have to understand is that what we actually require when renting a yacht. There are two types of yachts that you can rent. Bare boats and a crewed yacht. The basic different between a bare boat yacht and a crewed yacht is very simple. you can analyze from the literal meaning of the names. Crewed yacht is more like around 40 foot to 300 foot boat with a captain and few crew members are like a chef and cleaner. This kind of charter is helpful if you going on a family trip and especially with kids  around you.

On the other hand we have a bare boot charter, it a service of different kind. It allows you a perfect suite if you are traveling with friends or bunch of adults. It give you full privacy and the most freedom. And fortunately we were a bunch of adult friends so we decided to charter a bare boat to have a real vacation on our head. This is a very important factor that we have to keep in mind is which type of yacht to rent, because it can make or break your vacation. Keeping in mind it was the first trip for all of us. As living beings we tend to form images and create perceptions about things like the first experience that we have.

If I give you a simple example , The first time you go to a restaurant and you  have been told about its special offering of sea food , but the fact is that you actually never where a big fan of sea food or your taste buds are not used to sea food, so you will naturally tend to create a mindset that this restaurant is not going to be good for you even though it make best Thai food that you like a lot, but you haven’t tried it there before. My point here is that sometimes what is needed for you can be very different from what you actually select. Same phenomena are used in selecting best yacht for us. If you choose a crewed yacht with no privacy and freedom you won’t find the trip as pleasurable as it could be. So it should always be about  your personal needs, and then actually making a choice that suits you the best.

The next biggest decision that we made was to select a reliable charter service. There are many extra ordinary charter services available out there, but the best way to select one is a simple process. You need to do two things before you decide to rent a yacht. First ask people around you who in past made a yacht trip, then ask them about their experiences, how they found different yacht charter services, and if you don’t actually find anyone who has been to yacht trip before then go to the website of another charter service and read what they are offering? What have people written about them?.This is also a good source of collecting information that you are looking for. The next thing that you have to keep in mind is the cost of the charter. Many people spend a lot of time researching this, so they can find the most cost-effective option and end up having a trip to remember. One thing we must keep in mind when deciding on the cost factor, Is the returns is the trip worth the money you are going to be spending . Does it actually give out the benefits that are promised on the website. Because many companies offer many services so keep in mind what you actually want and then decide which is most cost effective for you.
