Museo del Prado

This Spanish national art museum is located in central Madrid. It features one of the world’s finest collections of European art. In this museum you will find around 7,600 paintings, 1,000 sculptures, 4,800 prints and 8,200 drawings.

The Puerta del Sol

Located at the very heart of Madrit, Puerta del Sol is one of the best known and busiest places in the city. It is also the center of the radial network of Spanish roads. The square contains the famous clock whose bells mark the traditional eating of the Twelve Grapes and the beginning of a new year. The Puerta del Sol contains many famous buildings and landmarks like office of the president of Madrid, statue of the Charles III, etc.

The Plaza Mayor

Built during the Habsburg period, this central plaza is located only a few blocks away from Puerta del Sol. There is a bronze statue of King Philip III at the center of the square. The Plaze Mayor has been the scene of many events like soccer games and bull fights.

Plaza de Cibeles

This plaza is a landmark of Madrid. It is well-known for the Cibeles Palace and the fountain with the same name. Located at the intersection of Calle de Alcala, Paseo de Recoletos and Paseo del Prado, this plaza is famous for the neo classical complex of marble sculptures and fountains.


This 231 meter steel and concrete television tower was built in 1982 to commemorate the FIFA World Cup. This tower is known in Madrid as “Piruli” and is located next to the M30 highway.

Temple of Debod

The Temple of Debod is an ancient Egyptian temple which was rebuilt in Spain. It is built in one of Madrid’s parks, the Parque del Oeste, near the Royal Palace of Madrid. It is one of the few works of ancient Egyptian architecture located outside Egypt.
